Friends of Abberd Brook is a community group assisting the authorities, and working with the community to maintain the Abberd Brook from Wyvern Avenue to the Co-op car park in the centre of town. We also assist in maintaining and improving its' spring fed pond and the green spaces in the immediate vicinity of the Abberd Brook.
We work with local residents, Scouts, Schools, Calne Artists and Wiltshire Wildlife Trust In transforming areas that in the past have been plain, dark and dingy into something that is bright, colourful and light and proved to be outstanding including:
THE PRINCE CHARLES DRIVE UNDERPASS MOSAICS CREATION OF A WILD FLOWER AREA NEAR THE VICARAGE REPAIRED STEPPING STONES EXTENDED THE BOARDWALK AND CREATED POND STEPS
In addition, we regularly do: LITTER PICKING, BROOK and POND MAINTAINANCE, CLEANING AND PAINTING PRINCE CHARLES DRIVE UNDERPASS.
